Established in 1997, Global Crossing is a worldwide operator with an IP-based fibre-optic network spanning 164,000-route km, connecting 200 major cities across 27 countries. For both carriers and service providers, the company provides provide infrastructure and capacity to transport voice and data traffic and offer Tier 1 Internet services over a global MPLS network. Global Crossing serves large corporations and government customers, providing managed data, voice, conferencing, secure e-commerce and broadband services.


Global Crossing's 9,000km UK fibre optic backbone is fully meshed with the global network and the 25,000km Continental European network that connects 45 cities in 12 countries. Global Crossing's subsea systems and terrestrial backhaul networks are monitored and managed from the Global Network Operations Centre in Docklands, London.
